Jewelry Care Guide
Larimar Care:
Larimar is a natural gemstone with a Mohs hardness of approximately 4.5–5 and should be handled with care.
To preserve its beauty:
- Clean with a soft, damp cloth only
- Avoid harsh chemicals, perfumes & hairspray
- Remove before swimming or bathing
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight (may fade in color overtime after exaggerated prolonged exposure)
- Store separately in a soft pouch
- Mohs hardness: 4.5–5 — handle with care
Dominican Amber Care:
Dominican Amber is a natural fossilized tree resin and is softer than most gemstones.
We recommend:
- Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth
- Avoid contact with perfumes & solvents
- Keep away from heat sources & direct sunlight
- Do not use ultrasonic cleaners
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Organic material — sensitive to temperature changes
Sterling Silver Care:
Sterling silver naturally develops a patina over time.
To maintain its shine:
- Polish with a silver polishing cloth regularly
- Store in an airtight bag when not in use
- Avoid exposure to chlorine & saltwater
- Remove before exercising or sleeping
- Use a silver dip solution for heavy tarnish
Gold-Filled & Gold Vermeil
- Wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth after wearing
- Avoid perfumes, lotions & chemicals
- Remove before swimming or showering
- Store separately to prevent scratching
- Do not use abrasive cleaners
Adjustable Cord Necklaces
Our adjustable cord necklaces are designed for comfort and everyday wear.
To help preserve their condition:
- Keep the cord as dry as possible.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to chlorine, saltwater, perfumes, and lotions.
- Do not pull excessively on adjustment knots.
- Store flat or loosely coiled when not in use.
As with all textile materials, gradual wear over time is considered normal.
Elastic Stretch Bracelets
lastic stretch bracelets are designed for comfort and flexibility. Like all elastic materials, the cord may naturally stretch, weaken, or lose elasticity over time with regular use.
To help extend the life of your bracelet:
- Roll the bracelet gently onto your wrist rather than stretching it excessively.
- Avoid pulling or overextending the elastic.
- Keep away from perfumes, lotions, oils, chlorine, saltwater, and harsh chemicals.
- Store flat when not in use.
Gradual stretching or wear of elastic over time is considered normal and is not considered a manufacturing defect.
Storage Tips
Proper storage extends the life of your jewelry significantly. We recommend storing each piece individually in the Mauna Vibes keepsake box or a soft jewelry pouch. Keep jewelry away from humidity, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures. A jewelry box with a fabric lining is ideal for long-term storage.
Professional Cleaning
We recommend having your fine jewelry professionally cleaned once a year. A local jeweler can inspect settings, clasps, and the overall condition of your piece to ensure it remains in excellent condition. Please note that professional cleaning is not covered under our warranty.
